The Roulette Table Layout
The roulette table has two versions, the European and the American layout and corresponds to the appropriate wheel. The roulette table is also laid out to correspond to the colors and numbers on the roulette wheel. The roulette table is designed as a grid of colors and numbers and allows for different kinds of betting. If you look at the diagrams below you will see the difference in the two table layouts. The numbers 1 - 36 are in a 3x12 grid with the "0" and "00" positioned by the 1-3 "street". The outside numbers marked 1st 12, 2nd 12 and 3rd 12 are bets that cover a dozen numbers 1-12, 13-24, 25-36. Against the 34, 35 and 36 on the right as you are facing the table are three boxes 2-1. These boxes are to bet on the adjacent columns of numbers. The Black/Red, Odd/Even , 1-18 and 19-36 are also available for betting. Bets on the number grid 0 or 00 to 36 are called "inside bets", while the bets on the other boxes are called "outside bets".
